Your Kili Vista Expeditions guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and transfer you to Marangu Gate, the eastern entry point of Kilimanjaro National Park (approximately a 30–40 minute drive).
After registration at the park gate, your day begins with a guided hike through the rainforest zone, the first stage of Kilimanjaro’s famous ascent. This section of trail is refreshing, shaded, and alive with wildlife.
After a scenic few hours, you’ll arrive at Mandara Hut, situated at 2,700 meters above sea level. Here, you’ll enjoy lunch surrounded by the peaceful forest atmosphere.
Following lunch, your guide will lead you on a short walk to the nearby Maundi Crater—a gentle but rewarding viewpoint offering sweeping vistas of Mawenzi Peak, Kibo Peak, and, on a clear day, the vast plains stretching into Kenya.
